India Treewalks Network

Do you like trees? Would you like to spread this love for trees? An excellent way to do so is through a tree walk!

Like a jungle safari, tree walk is noticing as many trees (and plants) as possible on a walk along a roadside, in a park or a wilderness around you. The facilitator of a ‘tree walk’ curates and shares information on the plants with the fellow walkers, and everyone observes, learns, and shares stories about trees.

To make tree walks more accessible, SeasonWatch has initiated the ‘India Treewalks Network’, a community of new and seasoned tree walk facilitators, naturalists and nature enthusiasts, to exchange tips, tricks and information.

Would you like to join this network? Please fill out this form. You will receive a confirmation email upon submitting the form. The ITN community of about 225 members works through a WhatsApp group, the joining link to which is included in the confirmation email. You can choose to join this group, or stay in the loop over email, too.

We encourage facilitators to conduct tree walks during the SeasonWatch Tree Festivals (March, August, and November). If you’d like to organize a tree walk during a tree festival, look out for our email communication or keep an eye on our events page. This is also a chance to get your walk featured on our updates page and social media!

Online sessions are organized to discuss the general process of organizing a tree walk, preparing for it and best practices for engaging the community. Various members of the India Treewalks Community are invited to share their experiences, too.
